Jumstart error

Hi ,

I am trying to jumpstart a Ultra-60 box. Boot server and the client are in same subnet , but I am getting the following error at client
"
{0} ok boot net - install
Boot device: /pci@1f,4000/network@1,1 File and args: - install
The file just loaded does not appear to be executable.
"
Has anybody seen this before ..please let me know what this means.

On your server; run showmount -e make sure that the shares look good. I assume you have already double checked /etc/ethers setting for OBP and /etc/hosts. Since it looks like it is starting the load I would say that ethers and hosts are porbably cool. run ps -ef | grep nfs and make sure you have nfsd, statd, lockd, mountd. The last think I would do is cd to your jumpstart directory where rules is held and run check to make sure your rules are cool. Then I would rm_install_client and rerun add_install_client for your u60. Then boot net - install. If it still does not work try running /etc/init.d/nfs.server stop then /etc/init.d/nfs.server start. then retry boot net - install. Let me know if you still have problems or what you have done so far to troubleshoot this.

Oh another thought is are you using the onboard ethernet port and try running watch-net-all from the ok prompt and see if it passes.

HI CA ,

thanks for your suggestions ..actually I figured out that it was problem with the /tftpboot/inet*.* file ..which gets downloaded to the client server for booting. It was a wrong file which I copied ..and i generated new file and used and now it works fine.
