hey,

i am using a ssi to put a navigation bar on all the pages in my website..now here is the problem:

for example,

i have a feedback form at mySite.com/content/help/support/feedback/contact.htm

and another page at
mySite.com/content/about/about-us.htm

now as you can see the these pages are on different levels, so the links on the navigation bar obviously won't work. now is there anyway i can return the home directory (mySite.com) and go through the folders from there...say if '*' returned to the home directory it would be *content/help ect... i know i can just do a link with the full address, but that would force another connection and slow the whole thing down...right? -Greg :-Q

deja-vu.

.. means to move up a directory, so

<a href=&quot;../../about/about.html&quot;>About</a>

would shift you about the directory tree.

(i didnt take that from your example, too many directories, I'm tired! :)) Dean Owen

no, i relize you can go up a level...but i am trying to have a standard nav bar for every page so i need to return to the home directory and then go from there -Greg :-Q

Just reference the directory structure from the root (i.e. /full/path/path/filename.xxx). That way the reference will be the same no matter where on the site you are. That should do the trick. Tracy Dryden
