I'm installing a second hard drive in my box to run a second OS(Linux). I am currently running ME. The jumper settings on the HD have me a bit confused. I know that I have to run the second HD as a slave, but there are a couple of jumper config. for a slave on the HD. Do I set the jumpers to the "16 head"? "Device 1(slave)", or "Device (slave)present"
Thanks

Sounds like it should be Device 1(slave), but what type of drive is this? If it's a decent enough manufacturer you should be able to track down some info on the jumper settings.

Thanks Rachel! My drive is an IBM. I figured it out though. I did it the old fasioned way. Start with the first settings(which I assume are the most common), and if that doesn't work... move onto the next! I appreciate your reply, though! I'm sure I will be on the Linux forum when I "try" to install it this weekend.

Good luck with the Linux install. I did a red hat install on a slave drive as a dual boot with Win95 and it went fairly smoothly.

I hope everything goes smooth! Should I partition my HD first and set up the Swap, or should I let DiskDruid do it for me???

You can do it beforehand, but I don't know of any advantage to it (granted, I don't have that much Linux experience). If it were me I would just let DiskDruid do it.
