I have a report that contains partial information on employees. You can search by last name and it will give you all matches for that name. I have it set up so that when you click on the employee ID it 'should' link to a second report that gives an expanded view of of the employee that you selected.

how do I pass this ID to the second report, so I just see the details of that one employee?>

Be gentle, I'm fairly new to all of this.

thanks in advance for your help

You should have a parameter for employee in the second report. In the first report, select the textbox which should contain your link. In the properties pane, select "Action." In the Action dialog, choose "Jump to Report", and choose your second report. There is a "Parameters" button which will allow you to link your Field's value from your first report to your second report's parameter value.

Thank you that worked perfectly. I had 'figured' it out a few days back and lost all of my work and had no idea what I had actually done to get it to work. It's all a learning process!
