Well, with Windows 1903, my jump lists have stopped working.

Says "The item you selected is unavailable..."

I cleared the jump list, opened the file from the location, it reappeared on the jump list. Trying to open it from the jump list gives me the same error.

Very frustrating.

Anyone run into this? What did you do to fix it? TIA!

Hi,

What do jumplists have to do with MS Office?

Windows 1903?

It's my office jump lists that aren't working.

It seems that you have problem with file associations. Noted for 1903 bild, and earlier for 1803-1807, but other file types.
Do you have proper access document icons in file explorer? Have you tried to set access as "open with" application? Repair office?

File associations are OK... I can double-click on the original file and it opens fine. I have looked at "Open with..." and made sure that (in that case) accdb and accde files open with Access. They open fine if I click on the file, they just don't open when I click on the jump list.

When you right-click on the file in jump list and go to Properties, do you see the correct Path and file name?
Do you see the same in the ToolTip when you hover aver the file name in your jump list?

The JumpListsView portable application can give you some info about the data stored in jump lists, incl. app name and file extension (it works in windows 10 too). Are they ok?
You can check if the issue is the same as Edit 8 and Edit 9 here, and test answers.

Checked out those threads... messed with the dcom settings, I didn't have multiples.

Ran Tweaking.com windows repair tool. No joy.

now, here's where things get weird.
I clicked on each shortcut in the jumplist, and deleted it. I also went into the appdata folder and deleted all the recent items.

The jumplist was clear.

I launched ONE access database.

The entire jumplist came back! Even stuff that I had deleted and not run.

It still didn't work; the list items are still invalid.

This is stupid. I mean, jumplists are a convenience, not a necessity... but a lot of my users use them, and a couple of users have started having the same issue.

I had the same issue with only MS-Access, my office 365 was working fine till I installed a new office language package
I tried to quick repair & full repair but not solved the problem.
Also, I uninstalled the language package & do the repair but also it failed to fix the problem.
I installed the "Jump list view" which "Combo" mentioned & I noticed that there is no application name for Access files but for word there is.

Finally, I tried the following succeded solution:
[ol 1]
[li]Uninstalled office.[/li]
[li]Installed Ccleaner to clean the registry (I ran it several times till no error remaining).[/li]
[li]Reinstalled office.[/li]
[/ol]
and now everything is OK
