Hi
I'm experiencing 'juddery' sound problem. When I say sound problem I can actually see the progress slider say for instance in windows media player
juddering. Everything was working fine. It happened suddenly and has got no better or worse. Here is what I've done so far.
> Checked for viruses.
> Checked for ad/spyware
> re-installed programs(media player, cakewalk etc...)
> Re-installed drivers for soundcard.
> Reformatted and re-installed XP
> Checked for conflicting hardware.
> Installed a new soundcard(advice from PCworld tech support)
> Checked processor fan in case of overheating. Working fine.

At the minute I have just the minimum of programs installed and it's still doing it. I've checked the processor usage. On Cakewalk, I'd expect it to
be quite high but it's actually running at 100%!!!
With Media Player, it fluctuates betwen 10% and 30% but with the same result. JUDDER!
The other obvious thing I've checked is my stereo that I play back
through, but its the same thing with headphones directly into soundcard.
It seems to be narrowing down to processor or memory?
Any ideas and I'd be really grateful.
Cheers
