Jsessionid cookie

Hi, i have a problem

I am developping a microsite for digital tv and i am a beginning Silverstream user/programmer.
The digital tv gets his contents from a settopbox.
This settopbox is some sort of minibrowser which supports
Html 3.2 and javascript 1.1

Now there is this problem. The settop box crashes if there is a jsessionid cookie in de URL for instance:

http://www.url.com;jsessionid=40jhf7483%jhfwhateverC7ygd734

The settopbox will crash cause of the % signs. It doesn`t like those.

If I request a page trough the settopbox from Silverstream,
Silverstream returns the url with the jsessionid cookie.

How do i remove this cookie, or how do i prevent this jsessionid cookie being placed in the url, without loosing my sessioninformation?
