JS menu...need it extended vertically.

I have a JS menu I am developing. It is fed from config.js. The problem is that there are 10 meus topics but some are too long causing the user to have to scroll over to see all of them. Ex. |Carnival Games | Event Questions|. They are too long.
I want to make them be:
|Carnival| Event |
| Games | Questions|

so they dont take up so much space. I dont know how to do that. I can specify the horizontal length but not the vertical. Can anyone help?
