js menu is showing up under a flash banner...help

Hello,

I have a menu at the top of a page that on mouse over, another java script submenu drops down. The problem is that is showing up under a Flash banner that I have below the menu. How can I make the flash file go under the menu? CSS? Anything else? I've already tried putting the drop down on a layer and it didn't work very well.

Anything esle I can try??

You can try showing us the actual page.

When you say "under" the banner. Do you mean it appears below it on the screen or that the banner obliterates the menu as it is rendered on top of the menu?

Flash content will always appear in front of HTML. Imagine the flash content occupying a transparent layer placed over your browser window.

Using CSS, my first thought would be the z-indez property. Give it a z-index of 1, or give the flash a z-index of -1.

I have a CSS ul/li menu that incorporates some javascript that I had to pull out in front like that to keep if from hiding behind some other stuff.

Actually found the solution, and it's easier than I thought.

Just go to dreamweaver, click on the flash file. the click on Parameters:

parameter:wmode
value:transparent

it works like a charm

As I said, Flash content appears ABOVE all other content of a web page.
Wmode is a new(ish) parameter when embedding a Flash object. I'm not sure how far back (as in plugin version) it works. But you should be OK.
