JS links will not work on IE5.1 mac-why?

running mac 8.6, IE (any version). My browser will now not open any links generated by javascript- i.e pop up windows or any further links which are javascript generated- I'm going mad.

have full MRJ latest version and all setting appear to be correct. Links work using Opera browser but not IE, can anyone tell me how to cure this?
