I've been using Prototype (and as a result, some of the scriptaculous code) for the past 6 or 8 months now. It's recently hit version 1.5 and has recently undergone a huge documentation effort.

I've used Dojo in the past and found the missing documentation (especially - and specifically - on event management) was a major problem toward Dojo adoption.

Cheers,
Jeff

I also use Dojo, but it's biggest failing is exactly as Jeff points out - lack of documentation, which then requires a lot of time and effort to read through the code to understand how the more involved features work. It can also be a bit slow for more extensive requirements.

But it is very good apart from that - lots of features and not just a pretty face with pretty effects, but a good framework with lots of features
