I've just discovered this event in our logs (ID 13568). After doing a filter on the logs, it's been happening since July 2005 !! This the only DC in a small domain, it was upgraded from Windows 2000 to Windows 2003 (no domain name change). The error only seems to get logged when the FRS services is started.
From what I understand, FRS is only used if there are Windows 2000 servers on the domain, but not for 2003 servers, is this correct?
I found an article at but this says not to change the registry for post 2000 systems. So I'm at a loss, what's going on here? From what I could see, AD was functioning without any problems.
