I set up a new pc for a user and installed MS Photo Editor as part of Office, not knowing that the user has previously used only IE to open .jpgs off our network. She liked using IE because it would open multiple .jpgs all in one window. Well, with Photo Editor installed it became the default program for .jpgs, and it would open a new window for each picture. The user didn't like this as she opens hundreds of photos each day and didn't want to close each window. So I uninstalled Photo Editor and reinstalled IE 6.0, but it still opens a new window for each .jpg. How can I fix this?
I have already checked "reuse windows to launch shortcuts" in the Internet Options of IE. I have also edited the registry key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\BrowseNewProcess] and set it to "no."
Any other suggestions?
