JPG to GIF

This is possibly the wrong forum - but does anyone know how to quickly convert a number of jpg files to gif's for use on a web site? I have about 50 jpgs that i need in gif format and i dont really fancy doing it via photoshop or alike.

Hm, if it were only 50, I'd probably do it in Photoshop. But then, I'm fast at Photoshop, so this would probably only take about twenty minutes.

You could create a quick Photoshop action that (just have Photoshop trace your actions) does a Save for Web and then closes the file. Then just drag the 50 files in and hit the shortcut key you assign to the action 50 times.

Obviously you could create a more complex action (one that repeats itself, for example), but since you're only doing this the one time a quick action would do the trick. The whole thing should take about 5 to 10 minutes.

Hi,

Not sure if you can do actions in PS 5 I never started doing actions until version 6.

In any case you will want to create your action then do a batch process.

Read up on how to do that here: faq229-2791 (some menus might be in different areas etc)
