JPEG not visible 1

Locally my site works fine and shows all images. However when I upload this to the ISP, the JPEG images don't appear either in the context of the page to which they belong or when I access via a direct url of the form

http://www.blah.com/fred.jpg.

The symptoms are different for files that don't exist so I don't think this is related to an incorrect location, link or case sensitivity.

Any ideas?

How big are the JPG files? If they are massive then it may just be the large filesize slowing the download.

Is that the actual URL you have quoted above. If not then please give the actual example so we can help.

Thanks for the reply Tony.

I have just sussed the problem - I uploaded the files using ftp but forgot to switch on binary so the files were effectively corrupt.

I had a different reply drafted but first I thought I'd try uploading as a GIF - the symptoms were different as an actual corrupt image was displayed which twigged me to the problem - so have a start for making me think about it!
