Hi,

I just joined this forum quite recently and need to ask you experts a question.

I intend to reinstall a linux server with Redhat 7.3 and want to find out more about the different JFSs that is available.

Between the following :

1. IBM JFS
2. SGI XFS
3. Reiser FS
4. EXT3

Which has the best functions and security as well as capabilities in terms of the current builds and future functions to be built in.

Anybody can help me with this.
Even though Redhat comes with ext3, I may not necessarily use it. I am a stickler for pain.

Help me please.

Thanks in advance.

I can't really speak to the benefits of the different filesystems, but I can tell you that my recent experience with ext3 has been very painless.

'course that might mean you want to try something else. ;)
