I'm trying to join a curved segment (previously clipped from a circle) with a straight line, and Illustrator just won't let me do it. I can join segments of the same kind together just fine, but mixing the two just doesn't float. Anyone know how? Perhaps there's a way to convert the curved segment (which still has its curve adjusting bands) into a fixed segment of some kind? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

In Illustrator 8.0 I can join a curved and striaght line together, make sure you don't have any stray points in with the two end points that you are wanting to join.

Try holding your shift key and selecting the two points you want to join, not draging a box selection.

Or drag a box selection and goto "Object>Path>Cleanup..." and remove the stray points.

What version of illustrator are you using?
