I am connecting fine to my internal network but cannot join the domain. I can see everything inside, the wins is working the dns is working. I have the pc setup to logon to my domain. I am able to ping by IP or Name and also can surfe. I've selected enable sdl which to my surprise someone said not to use it. I've looked at the users.c, dnsinfo.c and just about anywhere I could think of regarding joining the domain. I am soo close yet so far.. Win98/NT to an NT4 domain.

Any ideas? Help would be greatly appreciated.

You've probably already sorted this out, but it can't hurt ..

Do you have a rule that allows the netbios protocols through to your PDC/BDC's ?

All my FW-1 stuff is self taught so far, and when I was setting up our VPN I found a lot of it out by watching the firewall logviewer as I tried to make a connection/login to the domain from a laptop dialled onto the internet, then you can see what type of connections you need to allow.

for example, I have a rule that says

ANY <our-PDC> NBT Client Encrypt

so it allows Netbios protocols through (NBT is a group with them all in) to our PDC, but only if they are encrypted (using the securemote client).
