Here's the issue:

I have two tables that are joined by the ord_nb field. The primary table has a field called sku. My customer wants to join an Excel spreadsheet that has a list of sku's to the tables. They want to see all of the sku's that are on the primary table but want the sku's that are on the Excel spreadsheet to show a field that says "Buyback" all of the one's that are not on the Excel spreadsheet would say "Other".

I've figured out how to do the special field but when I try to join the Excel spreadsheet there seems to be no way to do a outer join (the option boxes are dimmed). The Show SQL option on the menu is also dimmed (after I've added the Excel spreadsheet).

Does anyone know of a problem with Crystal or a work around or any ideas on how I can solve this?

Thanks!

It is not something I've ever done, but I'd try using a subreport. Horribly inefficient when used for detail lines, I know. But it allows you to mix data sources - I've done it for Stored procedures and databases, and also for two different databases.
