I have 2 Cisco 3750's connecting a central office and a remote office,
currently there is a VPN tunnel between ASA's over 4 bonded T1's DIA.
I have since purchased a Point to Point 10mb "Metro Ethernet" pipe
that is completely separate from the internet link. Basically there is
2 Anda 2108's provided by the carrier that just pass 10mb ethernet
from site to site, no signaling or packet handling features at all,
whatever goes in one comes out the other.
Anyways, I want to do away with the ASA VPN connection and make the 2
3750 Core Switches just do the routing to connect the 2 sites. No
encryption. I am a little rusty at Cisco setups. Wondering if anyone
could point me in the right direction, seems like a simple enough
setup.
Would this just be a "switchport mode trunk" on a port of each 3750?
Would I need to assign and IP and a subnet between them?
Thanks
