Joing an Open path to a closed Path

Hi,

I am creating a circle with WW in the W goes over the path of the circle I have manged to cut the the edge of the w off and I want to join the ww to the circle path as I amtrying to design a vector logo for a vinyl cutter. Any help I would be greatfull. Thanks Rachel

Is this similar to what you're trying to do?

If you have Illustrator 10 or newer, you should be able to do this by typing your w's over the circle, then selecting both type and circle and in the pathfinder palette hit "Subtract from Shape Area" (or in earlier versions "Minus Front"). If you hit it without holding the Alt key it stays "Live" so you can still reposition and edit the type.
