Okay, our old Exchange server, MAIL1 was running out of space so my supervisor replaced it with a new server, ATSHQMAIL1.

MAIL1 was running Exchange 5.5 SP3 on Windows NT 4.0 SP5.
ATSHQMAIL1 is running Exchange 5.5 SP4 on Windows NT 4.0 SP5.

To get ATSHQMAIL1 up and running he joined the two sites and did a mail migration to the new server. He then removed the old server from the domain.

Problem is the old server (MAIL1) is still showing up under the Configuration and folders that were on MAIL1 are still showing up. We can't delete them and we get an error message when we try to open them.

Anyone know how we can get rid of the old server and folders without hosing our current server?!?

What seems to have happened is that the replication and rehoming of the old server was not 100% complete. You will need to bring the old server back up (hopefully not trashed) and reassemble the site connectors, allow replication to complete, check that everything is rehomed then you can remove the intersite connectors making sure that both ends are deleted before taking your old server down

Unfortunately, the old server was reformatted. Any suggestions?
