I'm going to use ISA server as a backup firewall for my network. Should I bother joining the server to the Domain?

I plan on giving it the same internal IP as my current firewall and not have it plugged into the LAN unless I need it so all I'd have to do is plug it in and unplug my firewall in the event I have a problem with the firewall.

Thanks

In your configuration, where you plan on using ISA as your external firewall, I would not join it to the domain. I would want to have it as barrier between my Active Directory and the Internet. If you were to install it as a second firewall behind your primary, I would join it so that I could take advantage of active directory for rules. Dan
