The past two nights one of our jobs keeps getting hung (in different areas) when I have tried to "stop" the job the status will hang in "stopping" status. The only way I have been able to "crash" out the job is by a reboot. Any other suggestions?
I have tried stopping the job engine, but that will not work.
This is Arcserve 2000

First figure out what queue id the job is that is hung. You can find this in your job status window. Then exit from Arcserve manager, go to c:\arcserve\0000001.qsd folder (or wherever yours may be) and remove the job (*.job)associated with the id number. There usually are 2 files associated with the id number-get rid of both. If you want to just move them to test, that might be better to try first. This will get totally rid of the job and you will have to recreate it. I always have to stop and restart all engines after I do this.

Try Arcserve2000 SP3 and QO12715 and QO15169

I've come across a simliar problem before. The way I get round it is to use the the kill.exe from the NT resource kit which is a kind've dirty way to stop it and but it means I don't have to bounce the server.

There are two ways to use the kill program. Normally, you can kill by application name, which in this case is asrunjob.exe

If you copy kill.exe to the c: of the Arcserve server, open a command a prompt and type 'kill asrunjob.exe' from the c:\> prompt.

However, sometimes kill will only work with process id's. If you open up task manager, you can find out what process id has been assigned to asrunjob.exe. In this case just type 'kill <process id>' from the c:\> prompt.

Hope this helps,

Kris.
