I have two question,

1. is it possible to automate jobs in MSDE so that certain updates or deletions run say every 15 minutes.

2. any ideas how i would go about getting MSDE to connected to an oracle database and retrive information and update a table?

any help would be great

Are you going to put the ORacle data on a Form or just need to loop through a recordset on Oracle data? What version of Access?

If you have the Professional version of sql server, not sure about msde, there is a scheduler. Also, could link the oracle table to sql server and treat like other sql server tables - call linked server.

I have an access application which is access2000: it runs a series of pass through queries against an oracle database and writes the data in to a local set of tables. once it has done this the tables are process through a series of joins once this is done the final data set is written to a final table and presented to the user. at the momenet the user has to start the update process and it can take between 1 and 8 minutes depending on what they want. i want to move it to MSDE in order to save time and schedule the process to say every 15 mins.
