I have a console line plugged into a Sun V480 system which is running Solaris 9. About every 6 months for some reason, when performing a telnet session into the console line, the login prompt and and letters typed appear as jibberish. I use the console line to remotely reboot the system so I can watch it come down and come back up while following exactly what it is doing. When the console gets screwed up, I am forced to boot the system by logging in regularly. Any clue as to what causes this behaviour and how I can stop it ? I had the Network team "bump" the console port and troubleshoot the connection, they don't know what the problem is either. Thanks in advance for any help.

not sure if this is the same thing i've encountered, but it sounds similiar, running this command fix the issue for me.
