JetDirect Printer Installer for UNIX

Cant install a newly purchased HP2035n printer on solaris using JetDirect Printer Installer for UNIX,

" !! gabhlj1 is NOT an acceptable name!!
Either it is NOT a network printer or this host is denied access
to it! "


Help would be appreciated

Can you ping it? Have you added it to DNS or to your /etc/hosts file using that name? Is it even a network printer?

Why do you need to install the Jet Direct software? Doesn't the printer have a web interface (or panel) from where you can configure the IP address.

Itspingable, no jetdirect card though, thats the problem.

The lpadmin comands dont seem to work fine with this printer model prints very slow

Resolved by using a printer w JetDitect Card.
