Hi,

What's the lifetime of the jetdirect card on HP 2200 N series printers. we have 3 dead in a week, the printers all purchsed around 2001. Is it caused by something else?

bustamove,
i would say that depends on the environment. but i work for a large manufacturer and have never had a card go dead - even in our heat treating or plating areas.
regards,
longhair

so, which one is more likely? too much network errors or frequent power bump?

bustamove,
could be lots of things - power spike - but then you should see an issue with other electronic devices on that circut. network errors should not cause a card to go dead. what type of environment were they in?
were they all manufactured at the same plant? same time? could be an issue with that specific lot(s) of cards.
regards,
longhair

Could be a bad batch of cards...but they are all from one of 15 floors we have. so i am more thinking it is a power issue.
thanks Longhair!

if they are the jetdirect 615 series then it's a known issue -- you need to call 1800-HPINVENT ask to speak to the jet-direct group they'll ask you for the serial number and if it falls within a certain range they'll replace it.
