The LabelWriter keeps disconnecting. I've updated the firmware... anyone know of any "tricks" to keep that from happening? I know the JetDirect 175x allows you to tweak some of the USB settings....

Anyone had any experience with this setup?

TIA!

Sounds more like a cable fault or something to do the the LabelWriter, perhaps disonnecting when idle, IMO. I've used a few and don't recall any operatng problems; in fact I've found them very reliable - they should be given how much they cost!

The most difficult part is setting up the JetDirect 175x - resetting it to its default IP address (192.0.0.192?) and then accessing it to change the address to fit our system.

I've tried changing the USB cable, and making sure the firmware on the labelwriter was the most up-to-date (kind of going along the same thought processes as yourself).

When I installed the 175x, I factory defaulted it and set it up.

This issue doesn't appear on the LW330's... just on the 400.

I was just wondering if anyone had run into this, and had an answer like "Oh, yeah... change the USB mode to Uni-directional for that printer" or something along those lines.

Oh, well...
