Nutshell: My fireworks optomized jpegs look great when tested or when viewed in flash player on my PC, but online they look like my dog's kibbles. (caparas.com)

Hopefully this will be painless for you. My published .swf of an image archive looks great when viewed on my PC. I optomized all jpegs in Fireworks, and though they imported into flash much larger than the actual size, I scaled them all down to a smaller size than the actual file. Nonetheless, they looked awesome in test and viewed from publish.

Please tell me that I am overlooking something. They look like trash online. No matter what I do. I know the jpeg publish setting doesn't effect file size, but I still maxxed it at 100%. No matter how many times I try--whether it be published in Flash 5 or Flash 4, the images look great on my PC but awful online.

Even more bizzarre, in the original file I used to make symbols and buttons of these images, the test runs looked even worse. Continously. Then, I cut and pasted all 33 of them into a new file and they started looking awesome. Any link between the two? Please tell me I am doing something wrong. Otherwise, my software is whacked.

Yes, I am a total newbie. But I can write and turn coin! Sometimes. Help!?!

Most of them look alright to me! A few seem to be pixelated slightly - did you set the "HTML Quality" publish option to "Best"? That helps to smooth out some rough edges.

Maybe the problem is that when you preview your site you're looking at it in a smaller browser window so that the graphics aren't stretched as much? When you see them on the web with the size setting at 100% (that's how it appears on my monitor at least) the bitmaps are being expanded a little and becoming blockier. How about publishing the movie at the size you created it at (the "Match Movie" option)?

These are just guesses, but I hope they help - either way it's a real nice site.

What is the actual url of the site? ...all I get is text when I pull up caparas.com Ya' Gotta Love It!
