Is anybody out there using OneWorld on a Sun Solaris platform? From Sun's Website, I can see that they seem to have an alliance, but I'm looking for anyone with real-world experience, or who might have a contact or colleauge with this experience.

Also...does anybody out there have experience using Websphere? How does it compare to Sun's iplanet and Oracle's app server products?

Thanks,

Tim

I just helped to implement OneWorld Xe on Solaris 8. We installed 3 Enterprise Servers on a Sun E10K, as well as Oracle HR Apps and our Oracle Databases.

Included in the plan was a farm of 12 JAS Web Servers, which also ran on Solaris 8. The servers used for this were E420's.

Sooooooooo..... yes, to answer your question, there ARE clients running OneWorld on Sun Solaris. This particular client was located in England, but there are many in the US as well.

I know of a St. Louis Company running clustered Sun servers and another in Chicago. I am sure I can come up with others. I also know of several that are using the Web product and they even like it!! If you want I can try to put you in touch with a couple so you can get your questions answered first hand.

Have a great day!

I was at an implementation that was on Sun Solaris. It went quite well from the OS side. There was a little bit of a problem because the Admin there had used there own naming conventions and not followed the JDE prescribed methodology. You should stick to the given format of naming and setup. Other than that the OS was fine. No experience with the other things you asked about. Good luck.
