I've recibed a lot of mails telling about a virus named ¨JDBGMGR.EXE¨

The text say ¨if you have a file named JDBGMGR.EXE in the folder C:\windows\system¨ delete this one because is a virus ........ ¨

I think that it isn´t true and it one is a Windows file, but I´m not sure.

Is it correct ?
Anybody knows for what is this file ?

Thank you very much.

Most likely this is a hoax although this file can be infected by Magistr.

This is from Sophos:
JDBGMGR.EXE is the Microsoft Debugger Registrar for Java. The program uses an icon of a grey teddybear.

Although it is possible for the file to be infected by a virus, it has also been the subject of a hoax.

Note: The W32/Magistr-A virus is known to infect the file JDBGMGR.EXE (this is unconnected with the hoax) so Sophos recommends users delete the file if they ever receive it as an email attachment.

Check with your favorite AV company. I've seen notices about this on several sites. James P. Cottingham
