i've read and know that mm.mysql is jdbc for mysql but can i use sun's jdbc?
Another question is which is better.

Why would you want to? What you refer to as "Sun's JDBC" is just a thin wrapper around ODBC. That is why it is called the JDBC-ODBC bridge driver. If there is an ODBC driver for MySQL (there is) then you can use the bridge. The real question is, why bother? The bridge driver is not going to give very good performance and you have a prefectly good Java JDBC Driver for MySQL availiable.
