I am attempting to add a second Sepaton virtual tape library to our Solaris 9 (Sun Fire V440) Networker (7.2.2) server. I did not add the first Sepaton VTL so I am rather new at this. Both Sepatons and the V440 are connected to a Brocade switch which which is zoned. I am able to see the new sepaton (emulating an ATL P7000 16 drive library) in probe-scsi-all output as seen below. The first sepaton is emulating an ATL P1000 6 drive library. I am able to see the new sepaton in cfgadm output and I see the tape drives in /dev/rmt. I do not see the new sepaton listed in inquire output and it is not listed when I run jbconfig to add it to networker. I am thinking that something may need to be added to /kernel/dev/st.conf. However there are no entries for the first sepaton in st.conf and it works fine. Does anyone have any advice? I have service calls open with Sepaton support and EMC but am not making any progress.

1) Configure an AlphaStor/SmartMedia Jukebox.
2) Configure an Autodetected SCSI Jukebox.
3) Configure an Autodetected NDMP SCSI Jukebox.
4) Configure an SJI Jukebox.
5) Configure an STL Silo.

What kind of Jukebox are you configuring? [1] 2

All the Jukeboxes that are connected are already configured.
No new jukeboxes are found on host bkp101.

This is not a NW issue so far as NW only can use what the OS has configured. As long as this has not been solved, do not try to configure a NW jukebox which he cannot see with inquire.

EMC had me add the below entry with the WWN of the new Sepaton unit to /usr/kernel/drv/lus.conf and do a reconfiguration reboot. The unit was then visible in inquire output and I was able to add it via jbconfig.

name="lus" parent="fp" target=50 lun=0 fc-port-wwn="100000068d041100";

Well done. Thanks for sharing the results.
