I'm trying to install Networker 7 on SUN server running 5.8 connected to STK 9710 library.

This is the inquire output:
scsidev@5.0.0:STK 9710 2010|Autochanger (Jukebox)
scsidev@5.2.0:QUANTUM DLT7000 296B|Tape, /dev/rmt/5cbn
S/N: CX810S0161
scsidev@5.3.0:QUANTUM DLT7000 296B|Tape, /dev/rmt/6cbn
S/N: CX731S0587
This is the jbconf# jbconfig
1) Configure an AlphaStor/SmartMedia Jukebox.
2) Configure an Autodetected SCSI Jukebox.
3) Configure an Autodetected NDMP SCSI Jukebox.
4) Configure an SJI Jukebox.
5) Configure an STL Silo.

What kind of Jukebox are you configuring? [1] 2
jbconfig: Jukebox error: scsi command MODE_SENSE faild
ig output:

Did you install the packages? can you get an output of pkginfo | grep LGTO ? possibly if the drivers were not loaded you might see this. It is a very odd problem. I have installed NW 100's of time and never seen this problem on any OS.

I have installed and removed all the packages serveral times. I have a lot of scsi devices and the /dev/lus is pointing to the wrong device for some reason.

This is strange - you can read the configuration but the
controller will not reply on a mode sense command?

What about jbexercise ? - will this run successfully?

This what I get when I run jbexercise

jbexercise: SYSTEM error: I/O error

There must be something wrong with your hardware configuration
already. Please keep in mind that NW only relys on the system
configuration. As long as this has not been fixed, you will
most likely not succeed wit NW.

hi,

After adding the jukebox did you have the system reboot making new devices. On Solaris the "reboot -- -r" command
will remake the devices.

I do not think that this is the problem as the first message
already showed that all devices are listed.
