Javascript with Adobe Acrobat scripting

I am using Adobe Acrobat 5.0. I need to calculate check box columns. The check boxes spread out 6 wide. I need a total for each column. All of the check boxes have the same name (they need to because you are only allowed one selection). I am trying to use scripting which requires JavaScript. Any suggestions? I do have each column exporting a different value when selected.

Check out the inbuilt Javascript documentation in Acrobat, this is quite similar to Web Javascript, with a few minor tweaks.
