Danny Goodman's Javascript Bible is excellent as a tutorial, and I recommend the more expensive (Gold Edition?) one. This book is a standard other Javascript books are judged by.
Pure Javascript is more like an encyclopedia, but is the reference I use most. I recommend this one for future reference, whether it's the style you want or need now or not.
