Hi,

I need to know whether it is possible to compile and run java programs in Red Hat Linux 7.2, and if yes does the java compiler and run time environment already exists or do we have to install it separately. Also where do I obtain all these for Linux platform ? Thanks.

YEs you must download and install the java VM from sun site:

http://java.sun.com/downloads/

if you want compiling source codes you should download JDK(java developpement code) and if you want to juste execute compiled java program just download the jre.
