Ok i know MS have pulled their Java VM support.
When i visit certain websites it insists i load Sun's JRE.
Which i dutifully did, but now find that most of my old JS Applets which used to open within IE now fail with class exception errors.
Uninstall JRE and reinstall MS VM and it works again
As you cant run both Sun's and MS at the same time (I don't think?)its driving me mad.

Can anyone offer any advice on this?

MS did not pull VM from their browser but rather now allow for the SUN JRE to be used instead if you so choose.

I have found the the SUN JRE does not work well or at all at certain sites (for the same reason you mentioned) and so we opt to stay with MS VM.

You can have both installed but you can only allow one to be used by default by the browser.

You can set this in either the browser ADVANCED options or by unchecking support for IE in the SUN Java Control Panel. joegz
