Java SWING Example\Model Help!!!

Hello, I am really struggling with some Java Applet concepts and need your help.

I need a Java Example that clearly shows how create an Applet with the a Menu, Common Controls (Label, Text Box, Combo Box, Buttons, CheckBox ,toolbutton bar etc.) and corresponding event handler.

OK, this is pusing it, the above request would be for an SDI model...I also need an MDI example too. My feelings are I am not the first to go this path.

I am a VB guy lost in the world of Java...Help!
