I'm getting ready to take the Java Certified Programmer exam. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good exam related book to look over? Thanks.

Well I can not recommend a good exam related book, because I'm not there yet...However here are a couple of good website that ether have/and or provide links to mock java exam question to help you prepare...

Maybe the best thing to do is go to sites like Amazon.com and bookpool.com and read the reviews of the books related to java cert.

Sorry I could not provide more insight to you...

I hava passed it and most of the questions asked could be answerd if you have studied the tutorials:
ftp://ftp.javasoft.com/docs/tutorial.zip
Allthough I got 0% on garbage collection.

The objectives can be found here:

I just started java programming using .netbeans on a win machine. .netbeans is a good IDE allthough it's a bit slow and used up quite a lot of memory compared to j++ (which uses a MS dialect instead of java).
When you put the javadocs in the correct directory you can easaly get to the correct documentation. Javadocs filename is: j2sdk-1_4_0-doc.zip

I liked Mike Meyer's Passport Guide to Java 2 Certification,
and the exam cram book.
