I am using IE 6 with SP1 but my Java suddenly stopped
working.

According the the Sun website I have the most current
version of Java but when I go to java enabled web sites it
does not work.

Any ideas?

jacque427, try this. Open Internet Options, click Advanced, scroll down to JAVA. See if the JAVA option is enabled.

It is enabled. That's one of the things that has me confused.

If/when you install a new version of Sun J2SE, you need to manually select to have Sun JVM as default JVM for IE (in install), or after install via the JavaPlugin control panel. This generates the necessary win32 registry
entries, which must be present for the utility to know about JavaPlugin. After that, the it should work properly.

If you have issues, re-enable as default the Sun VM through the JavaPlugin control panel to rewrite the needed registry entries.

I did that and it did not work. Any other ideas?
