Java PDF Generation

Does anyone know of a good (cheap/free) tool that will allow us to create PDF reports dynamically? Creating web app using Websphere and need to create 4 very basic reports and need to create a PDF file that will look like a daily pass / permit. Or are there any good code examples? Database is SQLServer2000.

Maybe one of the best free tool around.
