java.lang.OutOfMemoryError

Hello,

I have been getting the following error in Cognos ReportNet:

java.lang.OutOfMemoryError

I have tried and tried to find out a pattern, but I have not. It is totally random. Sometimes it is when navigating the Cognos Connection. Sometimes it is when running a report. Like I said, totally random.

Any ideas?

yes..

1. do you have enough ram?

2. check your dispatcher maximum memory setting. if it is a lot more than 768 (say over 1000) then reduce it to 768 and see if hte issue disappears. if it does keep increasing it until you find you start getting the error again. that way you will know what to set it to.

3. your affinities. set these back to the defaults if you have changed them. 2 interactive or batch processes per physical cpu you have (hyperthreaded cpus not included in this).
