Java install in SuSe 9.0

I installed the Mozilla FireBird browser-went OK. But when I try to play on-line games it tells me I need the Java 2.0 installed and offers to D/L and install for me. I click OK and the D/L starts-finishes-the install starts-finishes and tells me it's installed OK and to re-start the browser. After I re-start the browser I have the same problem all over again. Would anybody have any idea what's going on with this thing? Thanks.
