I have just finished installing Oracle 8.1.7 on my P4 XP machine.

Performed the usual renaming on the Simcjit.dll's.

Install went fine, cancelled out on the Net8 config.

All the services are up and running, however I keep getting a Windows pop up error box for Java.exe. These keep popping up until I have a screen full of them.

The error ceases when I stop all Oracle services, and starts again when I Start the OracleOraHome81HTTPServer.

Is there a work around to stopping this Java error after (what I thought was) a successful install?

Regards,

Simon

There is a known Oracle problem with the Client install on P4 machines with XP. You can get the patch on Oracle Metalink.
