Is Java EE 5 the same as J2SE 5, which is J2SE 1.5?

Currenly I have J2SE 1.4.

No. EE stands for Enterprise Edition whilst SE stands for 'Standard Edition'.

J2SE 5 is taken to be Java Version 1.5
