java basic comiling question

in my \jdk1.5.0_06\bin where I have javac I made another folder in bin called MySamples

now in the bin folder i do the following

javac \MySamples\HelloWorldApp.java I get the error saying "can not read \MySamples\HelloWorldApp.java

what am i doing wrong here?

\ usually means the root folder of the unit ...
