java bandwidth packetsize stress tool

I am developing a web strees tool (i am trying....)
Tha aaplication simulates users that sen HTTP requests and receives the responses from the web server.
-Can i measure the bandwidth with java?
-Can i define packetsize -buffersize?
-What else can i measure or can i define with java

All this happens inside a LAN and i use java.net or HTTPClient.
Please help meeeeee
