I have users on some complaining that when they try to retrieve their email through Internet Explorer methood, they have problems replying. When they try to reply, there is just a grey screen where the user should be allowed to type in text.

Any ideas why this would be, or how to fix the problem. This happens on various operating systems and various Versions of IE versions 5 - 6.

We had similar problems, especially when we upgraded the internet version to iNotes. I found problems that were indeed tied the need for a Java applet. First thing I'd check is the internet browsers settings to see if Java applets have been disabled/rejected.
Next I would look on the computer for programming that may cause such interference. On my own box it turned out to be the program AdSubtract, which is wonderful for blocking cookies and advertisements, but was interfering with my mail even though I specified beneficial settings related to the mail domain. I turned AdSubtract off, reset IE6's java settings, closed the session and restarted and my mail worked great. For some it may even take a reboot instead of just a restart of the browser.

Interestingly Enough I am using AdSubtract... it is a great program... But my guys are not using the program... I do see that it is a Java Applet problems. We are using Domino/Notes R5. I thought I had double checked the IE Java settings, I will check Again...

Any body else experience this?
